b-a-n-a-n-a-s

Now that the weather is starting to change....I've been in the mode to bake.
I love a yummy slice of banana bread for breakfast,
so out came Grandma's simple recipe....my craving satisfied.

3 ripe bananas
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
dash salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup of walnuts

Mix it all together. Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes.
Cool in pan about 10 minutes before removing from pan.

delish! enjoy!

Me & My Honey

We took a little day trip to Savannah, GA. We arrived in historic downtown right around lunch time. My first stop was Paula Deen's restaurant Lady & Sons to see if there were any open tables. As expected, lunch seating was booked. So we made a 5:00 dinner reservation, and set off to see Savannah. First things first, we had to eat. Jolie and Daddy were hungry. ;) After a quick lunch we started our 'walking' tour. Our 2nd stop on the tour was Savannah Bee Co. Honey House. This is such a neat little store, you have to visit if you ever are in Savannah! There is a life-size bee hive for the kids to explore. Jolie was a busy little bee and didn't want to leave her hive. Mark loves honey...so he sampled every flavor of honey. Like Pooh Bear, he had a very full belly. :) We both enjoyed the local Savannah honey and the Florida Orange Blossom honey. We even tried raw honey comb. This was a first for me! It's 100% edible, the whole comb, covered in gooey honey. We sampled the raw honey comb on a slice of a tart green apple with a sliver of cheese. OMGosh!!! It was delicious! We ended up purchasing a jar of honey and one platter of raw honey comb.

ballerina

Grandma sent Jolie some new pj's. Which really isn't a big deal, but Jolie thought her tutu was the greatest thing ever! We had to have a little dance recital before bedtime. :)
If Jolie is anything like her mommy....there will be a lot of playing dress-up going on! My family used to give me such a hard time, cuz I would change my outfits 3 or 4 times a day. and that was after playing dress up! Now, I'm just waiting to see if Jolie will follow my footsteps. Either way, she is the cutest ballerina I've ever seen.

C-A-R-D-S....Go Cards!

Football season has started.... which means Mark has started to 'teach' Jolie how to cheer on the Louisville Cardinals. Jolie is all about throwing her little arms up in the air and yelling "touchdown!" Mark couldn't be prouder! Let's just hope (for my sake ;) lol) the Cards have a good seasone!

baby momma ;)

It's really kind of scary to see Jolie imitate Mark and I. She pushes her babies around the house, like such a good little mommy. She cooks in her kitchen when I'm cooking. But the funniest thing so far is Jolie "talking" on the phone. In her cute little baby voice "hello?....ya....uh-a.....ya". I'm afraid that might be what I sound like!!! :)

welcome home.

I just wanted to share a few pics of our new home. We've only been moved in for 5 months now.
We love are new home. We are so blessed to be where we are and to have our lil family.
Moving, holidays, Jolie's birthday, Mark's graduation.....life has been a little busy lately. :)
Now that things have slowed down a bit, our next project is painting the den. I can't wait to cover up that old paneling. Mark can't wait for the project to be over with. But like a good hubby, he's going to make himself useful. :)

cousins

Jolie and I made it to Wisconsin for a quick visit in February.
It was so much fun to see the girls together. Jolie loves her cousins!
Jessie and 3 week old Amelia. She is so beautiful!
Steve and I with our girls :)
big hug from Eva!
time to play!

me and my kitchen

Jolie loves to play "in" her new kitchen. Grandma spoiled her with a brand new kitchen for her 1st birthday. She is "in" her kitchen every day....cooking up a storm.
Jolie has a grocery basket full of plastic fruits and vegetables, that she insists on cooking her in little oven. :) I think she loves the sink best.....I will put Cheerios in the sink for her to snack on. Mark calls it her feeding trauft.
I just love my blue-eyed baby girl. Every day of my pregnancy I prayed for a healthy and happy baby with blue eyes like Mark. My prayers were answered! :)
