welcome home.
I just wanted to share a few pics of our new home. We've only been moved in for 5 months now.
We love are new home. We are so blessed to be where we are and to have our lil family.
Moving, holidays, Jolie's birthday, Mark's graduation.....life has been a little busy lately. :)
Now that things have slowed down a bit, our next project is painting the den. I can't wait to cover up that old paneling. Mark can't wait for the project to be over with. But like a good hubby, he's going to make himself useful. :)

me and my kitchen
Jolie loves to play "in" her new kitchen. Grandma spoiled her with a brand new kitchen for her 1st birthday. She is "in" her kitchen every day....cooking up a storm.
Jolie has a grocery basket full of plastic fruits and vegetables, that she insists on cooking her in little oven. :) I think she loves the sink best.....I will put Cheerios in the sink for her to snack on. Mark calls it her feeding trauft.
I just love my blue-eyed baby girl. Every day of my pregnancy I prayed for a healthy and happy baby with blue eyes like Mark. My prayers were answered! :)

Jolie's 1st Birthday
Jolie is 1! She fully enjoyed her 1st birthday party. I think it's easy to say the cake was her favorite part of the day!
Jolie's party was Sunday, January 11th. All of Jolie's friends from church came to help her clebrate. She is such a blesssed little girl to have so many friends. Grandma even made the long trip from Wisconsin for her birthday. We had so much fun celbrating our little girl's 1st!
Yay! It's so much fun to be 1!
The Birthday Girl chair!
After enjoying her cake, Jolie had to be stripped down. She had cake everywhere! Once she was in outfit #2, Jolie opened all her presents. (mommy helped) She has many great new books and outfits. Her special gift was a kitchen with all pots and pans and all!!!!
Thank You to everyone who made Jolie's day so special!

the kitchen
Here it is....the new and improved kitchen!!!! I love it! If you look below to an older post, you can compare the before and after. We tore the entire old kitchen out, to the bare bones, and started from scratch (kinda). We kept all the appliances where they were. The big difference in the floor plan would be that we extended the kitchen about 2 feet into the dinning area, which really opened up the kitchen. While the contractors worked in their stages, I came behind and painted the cabinets....black. What do you think? I love it! Since the kitchen is bigger and open, I think the black compliments the space. Along with my big sink. I got the biggest one basin sink I could find...and at a bargin! My big sink under my big window, along with my big pendant in my big kitchen. What's not to love :) I still have some finishing work to do, but the transformation is amazing. It's a completely different space. and if I didn't mention it already....
I LOVE IT!!!!

renovations.....renovations
Moving day is quickly approaching! We will officially move in this Saturday, the 25th. We gave ourselves a little extra time so as much as the renovations could be done as possible. The new kitchen cabinets are in and finally level....I guess they were quite the pickle ;) to install. The old paneling was replaced with new drywall. New flooring for the foyer, kitchen, family room will be installed tomorrow. And the new carpet in the living and dining will be installed Friday. Things are starting to come together! YAY!!!! I can't wait to post the final before and after pics.
This will sound funny, but I'm glad that one little nail caused such a mess. God was definitely looking out for us. When the contractor took out the old cabinets, he discovered mold....lots of mold. There was a small leak behind the wall, so the moisture just expanded behind all those old cabinets. We would have moved in never knowing, raising Jolie amongst the mold. So, I am ever so grateful we were given the money from the sellers to do a complete renovation. praise God! Now we will have a fresh new kitchen....after I do some dusting!! ;)
So, the past couple of weeks have been hectic. Once it's all said and done, it will be worth it.

house update
uuhhh....This is what happened when the roofers hit a pipe with their lethal nail gun....

Needless to say, the house closing has been slightly delayed. Which is a bit frustrating, since it feels like we'er on a time crunch. Thank God we don't have to be out of our rental 'till the end of October. The good thing about all this is that we're going to get a new kitchen from this mess! We didn't have the budget to do that, so I was just going to paint the cabinets. Well, the cabinet doors are all ruined. So, I guess new cabinets are worth the delay. We will also be getting new carpet in the formal living and dining rooms.

daddy's lil cheerleader
Louisville football has started and Jolie insisted on being a lil Cardinal cheerleader... cuz they need all the cheering they can get!!! (but shhhh....don't tell daddy)
They're just happens to be a game the same night we close on the house. Which is this Friday!!! Friday, September 26th we will proudly be home-owners! We already have plans to start a few projects. This weekend we will be tearing out old paneling from the dining/kitchen and drywalling with the help from our good friend Steve. And lot's of painting! Our big project will be the flooring....which I will be installing with greatly appreciated help from Mom and Dad.
Pictures coming soon!

yeah...it's August...which means Jolie is 7 months old!
I am so thankful for such a beautiful healthy girl. The amazing love and joy God has givin us, is only more evident when I look at this little miracle...growing more and more with each day. I love her personality....happy and full of giggles. Sweet and loving.
7 months brings a whole new game....babbling...crawling...pulling herself up...curious.
Mark and I need to baby proof the house! asap!
